Information on the pieces for the show:
The works displayed are created through collaborative practice between Resident Artist Kelsey Hamilton Davis and Living Studio artists. Hamilton Davis built the foundation of these works through a collective handling of clay. The coils were formed by the hands of Living Studio artists, the clay maintaining the memory of that touch, before becoming forms. Surface pieces were placed with the direction of collaborating artists. The glaze and mixed media additions were led entirely by Living Studio artists, without intervention. The works were accomplished early in 2023 and were inspired by the early, still chilly, yet promising days of the springtime.
