Living Studios is excited to participate in Soundbox7: PULSE: Improvising Collective Future(s) at Oregon State University May 19-21. This year, Soundbox 7 is excited to feature works, live performances, emergent art(s), and improvisational practices that embody DIY approaches, offer real-time solutions, and utilize improvisation as a vital tool for addressing pressing global issues identified by the United Nations, including Environmental and Global Health, Gender Equality, Humanitarianism, and Technology and Innovation. Our video, C A M E R A S O U N D, will be screened as part of the video salon on Tuesday, May 21 from 9-10 am in MU room 109.
Equipped with cardboard camera sculptures, we embarked on a photo-shoot and improvised performance on a baseball field at a local park.
C A M E R A S O U N D is a video work that includes sound and performance by artists who participate in the studio program at Living Studios Corvallis (administered by Cornerstone Associates). Through visibility, interaction, and improvisation in public space, we practice liberation that is both radical and ordinary. We engage in open-ended performances that begin with the idea that our presence and movement through a space is a performance in and of itself.
